Drain (USA) NZ Tour with One Step Closer (USA) + more

Beloved California hardcore party-starters DRAIN, supported by special guests ONE STEP CLOSER will head to the Sunshine Coast and Hobart in Australia, and Wellington and Auckland in New Zealand this March surrounding the festival dates.

Emerging from the coastal settings of Santa Cruz in 2014, DRAIN aren't merely a band; they're a full-blown experience. With a reputation for euphoric chaos and nothing but good vibes, DRAIN are eternally here for a good time, and have also been repeatedly praised for helping to spearhead the recent renaissance of American hardcore music.

Cementing their place at the hardcore forefront with their sophomore album, All You Embrace, earlier this year, ONE STEP CLOSER also wowed Australian audiences back in 2023 for their debut down under performances alongside their unique and insatiable concoction of indie rock, post hardcore and shoegaze that has also seen them dazzle alongside Four Year Strong, Koyo, Real Friends and Knuckle Puck.

Following its hugely successful inaugural year in 2024, including a sold out Melbourne event, NEW BLOOM FEST is back with a sweltering round two for 2025 in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, bringing the golden age of DIY hardcore shows and all things alternative into a modern setting.

LSB/DRS SPACE AGE TOUR - AUCKLAND

FUZEN AND LIQUID LOWDOWN PRESENT

LSB AND DRS "SPACE AGE" TOUR

SAT 22ND MARCH AT NECK OF THE WOODS

SUPPORT FROM: TOKYO PROSE, CHICCORELI, LAYERS AND RHYAS

Fuzen & The Liquid Lowdown are proud to present two of the biggest names in Drum & Bass to Auckland's Neck of the Woods this March, bringing their Space Age Tour. LSB & DRS

LSB

LSB’s first forays into Drum & Bass came in the early 2000’s as the co-promoter of the hugely successful ‘Bounce’ nights in Norwich. Cutting his teeth behind the decks as one of the resident DJ’s, he had already turned his hand to production by the time the team behind Bounce called it a day in 2007. His first productions surfaced on the now defunct imprints Bingo Beats (run by the legendary DJ Zinc) & Deep Soul Music in 2007-08. After a small hiatus spent honing his craft, he returned with fresh music in 2011 and his stock has been rising ever since.

‘All Of My Love’ / ‘Rolling Sideways’, released on BCee’s Spearhead Records, was the first of this new wave of productions and exhibited his new prowess in the studio and a more expressive, melodic sound that quickly became his trademark. Further releases on Spearhead quickly followed in the shape of the ‘Overthinking EP’, ‘The Hurting’ and more, as well as making a choice appearance on Artificial Intelligence’s Integral label with the hugely popular ‘Rotary Motion’ / ‘Serendipity’ 12” in collaboration with Technicolour & Komatic (now Technimatic of Shogun Audio).

By now, his blend of soulful musicality with dancefloor weight had won him a myriad of fans across the globe. Gigging across the UK and Europe to captivated audiences in 2014, he still found the time to remix ‘Serendipity’ for Integral, drop ‘XLRS’ on Shogun Audio as part of their 10 year compilation album as well as feature on Tokyo Prose’s hugely popular ‘Presence’ LP. A remix of London Elektricity’s ‘Vapour Trails’ followed as part of the Hospitality 2015 album before he featured on the sophomore DRS album ‘Mid Mic Crisis’.

‘The View’ was the stand-out track from a stand-out album, with his delicate instrumentation & arrangement perfectly complimenting Tyler Daley’s haunting vocals and DRS’ insightful lyricism. Having already impressed Soul:r boss Marcus Intalex with his music, a solo EP for the label came in the shape of volume 3 of the popular ‘Four:Fit’ series. The EP’s 4 tracks found their way into the sets of countless A-List Dj’s and showed a diversity in style, approach and a confidence gained from the ease with which his music fitted into the discography of one of the most respected labels in D&B.

Now working on follow up projects for Soul:r, producing remixes for some of the biggest labels in bass music, in addition to playing an ever expanding number of DJ dates across the world, the man simply known as Beavon to his friends is assured of his status as one of the brightest up & coming talents in Drum & Bass.

DRS

Decades into a remarkable career that has spanned seven albums and countless pieces of honest, inward, and elegantly narrated music, it's only now that DRS is sharing music with the world that is the purest reflection of himself.

DRS (Dirty Rap Scallion) is a British rapper, born Delroy Pottinger. He was one third of UK hip hop trio, Broke 'n' £nglish, and has collaborated with the likes of Calibre, Marcus Intalex, Lynx, LTJ Bukem, Icicle and LSB. His music is the sound of an artist becoming a master of his domain, a wry look at life underpinned by honesty and great writing. As a creative he works across different disciplines: music, film and art.

His success as an artist boils down to his refusal to speak on anything other than his truths, something that listeners can identify with, this is highlighted by three award wins at the Drum & Bass awards: Best MC, Best Vocalist and he featured on the Still Standing Remix which was awarded best remix. He is the go-to host for some of the finest that electronic music has to offer, from Calibre to Toddla T.

In the 1990s, he landed a spot as the resident MC at Club Xtreme and came into contact with drum and bass artist LTJ Bukem and rapper MC Conrad. At the time, DRS was one of only a few rappers who could keep up with the fast speed of drum and bass, going on to appear on many of Bukem's tracks. DRS’ Manchester movements also saw his Broke’N’£nglish hip hop collective support the likes of Jurassic 5, Mobb Deep and Wu Tang Clan in the 90s.

After releasing his debut LP 'Grown Man Biznizz' in 2011, he quickly followed up with his sophomore album in the form of 'I Don't Like Usually MC's But...' a year later, featuring collaborations with the likes of Dub Phizix, Calibre, dBridge, Lenzman and, S.P.Y. Then, in 2015, DRS released 'Mid Mic Crisis', his third extended body of work. It was this album that acted as host to 'The View', a collaboration with LSB and Tyler Daley which has since established itself as one of the most iconic drum and bass tracks of the past decade.

Following a quieter release period, 2019 saw DRS release two albums in the space of twelve months. First, the Manchester-based wordsmith released 'From The Deep', a hip-hop soul project on his own Space Cadet imprint, before dropping his first collaborative project with LSB in the shape of 'The Blue Hour'. In 2020, DRS and fellow MC Dynamite signed to Hospital Records as a duo, with this period seeing the pair release their 'Playing In The Dark' LP.

Most recently, DRS has released 2 albums by the name of 'Light Language' in 2021 and ‘Del-Rok-Ski’ in 2022, the latter of which was released on Shogun Audio.

On top of his non-stop writing schedule DRS keeps the diary busy with club shows and festivals all over the UK and Europe including 2023 performances at Waterworks Festival and Boomtown Fair, a full band live show at Islington Assembly Hall in London as well as a trip down under appearing at Northern Bass Festival in New Zealand.

Joining LSB & DRS for this very special show we have the local legend Tokyo Prose who has multiple releases on LSB’s label ‘Footnotes’ alongside Liquid Lowdown’s Chiccoreli, Rhyas & Layers

This may be the one and only time to catch these two legends performing together so don’t miss out on this very special performance

Tom Lark - Moonlight Hotel Tour

Shannon Fowler has announced his second full-length album as Tom Lark, Moonlight Hotel, along with dates for his first live shows in Aotearoa since May 2024.

Moonlight Hotel sees the artist explore the parallels between his family's historical displacement following the 1929 earthquake that destroyed Murchison – a pioneer town in the upper West Coast of the South Island – and his own following the 2011 earthquakes that levelled much of Ōtautahi.

The second single from the LP, 'Rock & Roll Baby' is due out on 14 February and also captures a poignant acceptance of the unpredictability of a musical life. The track follows 'Dumb Luck', which was released in April 2024 as a sweetener for a UK tour.

'Dumb Luck' was the first taste of new material from Tom Lark since 2023’s Brave Star, the Ōtautahi-born, Tāmaki Makaurau-based artist’s debut album.

Earning him a finalist nod for the 2024 Taite Music Prize and Te Kaipuoro Taketake Toa | Best Folk Artist at the 2024 Aotearoa Music Awards, Brave Star was a return for Fowler – who had previously released two eponymous EPs before taking time out to work on his pop craft as Shannon Matthew Vanya.

Brave Star also won Tom Lark an APRA Silver Scroll Award Top 20 nomination in 2023, care of its second single 'Live Wires’.

Yung Singh | Auckland

Notion Touring & Astral People are proud to present the Yung Singh 2025 tour of Aotearoa.

Nobody does it like Yung Singh. He stands as one of the most exciting DJs on the world circuit, having spent the last few years levelling up from local phenomenon to shining global star.

Friday 11th April | 10:00pm - 4:00am

Neck of the Woods | Auckland

With support from Caru, Calske & RNG+SUS

Tickets on sale via Flicket, R18+ ROAR.

More about the legend Yung Singh himself!

Refusing to be boxed in by just one sound, Singh’s sets can vary from across the dance music spectrum to hiphop, rap and everything in between - all blended perfectly with his Punjabi roots. If the last 2 years are anything to go by, expect the unexpected at a Yung Singh set.

Awarded DJ Mag’s ‘Breakthrough DJ of the Year’ in 2021 buoyed by a string of viral moments - from an eradefining Boiler Room set to a spontaneous collaboration with singer Raf Saperra at Fabric that now sits in UK club folklore. Singh’s output has helped to re-energise the British Punjabi and South Asian music scene, with several stand-out performances at South Asian focused events cementing his position at the forefront of this resurgence.

Indeed, this ‘cultural responsibility’ has seen Singh contribute to numerous projects bringing to light Punjabi/Sikh & South Asian arts, history and culture. Keen to make sure those that came before are not forgotten - he partnered with the Ministry of Sound to produce ‘The Birth of Punjabi Garage’, a documentary about the much beloved but oft-forgotten sound brought back into focus after his scene shifting Punjabi Garage Mix. Singh has also collaborated with renowned Artist Jasleen Kaur to on sound design for her Socio-mobile exhibition, consulted on a BBC Radio 4 Documentary on Partition with Kavita Puri & hosted numerous screenings and panels with Brixton Community Cinema. In more recent months, a truly memorable BBC Radio 1 Residency has captured attention - just like his sets, Yung Singh’s creative output spans disciplines & art forms.

Showing his artistic range and sharp ear in new regions – with crowd reactions to match, Singh has established himself as one of the most sought-after club DJs & a festival circuit highlight. A position earned thanks to now legendary performances at some of Europe’s most respected festivals & clubs, including Horst in Belgium, to Barcelona’s Sónar, MELT in Germany, a memorable Glastonbury performance or two and, of course, a groundbreaking debut at Panorama Bar in Berghain to cap it all off.

With an unforgettable month long Phonox residency under his belt, alongside ferociously energetic shows on his “Global Gabru” tours, including yet another viral Boiler Room, Singh is well placed to continue his relentless trajectory as one of dance music’s most exciting names.

Now setting sights on to yet more regions, curating his own events and evolving his artistic practice, Yung Singh won’t be stopping anytime soon

Adult Friends Chlorine with added Silcrow

Auckland, get ready for an evening of all your favourite alternative, guitar-centric sounds from lush shoegaze to crushing post-hardcore. Don't miss the stunning Chlorine live at Neck of the Woods with support acts Adult Friends and Silcrow.

Hailing from Auckland, Chlorine and Silcrow are joined by Wellington's Adult Friends who's nationwide tour allows for this perfect opportunity to share the stage with two stellar Auckland bands. And Neck of the Woods is the perfect venue to make it all happen so don't forget the date! Adult Friends Chlorine with added Silcrow is flying off the shelves, your only chance to have some for yourself is on the 8th of Feb, 2025 at Neck of The Woods, Auckland!

Doors for this event are at 7pm and buying your tickets on Humanitix will only set you back $10, an absolute steal. But if rocking up to the door is more your style, door sales are a steal too and $15!

Taking the stage first is Silcrow, with their raw and energetic sound... stylistically laden with influences from classic rock, grunge, metal, blues and funk... Silcrow are bringing a new-age twist to the rock music scene.

Adult Friends follow up with a cacophony of Post-Hardcore with gothic and melancholic tendencies. Influenced by bands such as At The Drive In, Failure and The Cure

Headlining is Chlorine, with melting guitars and washed out vocals. If you’re counting pedals on stage, all three bands rival each other, but Chlorine probably takes the cake!

Electric Panther + NOTW present Kush Jones (NYC)

ELECTRIC PANTHER + NOTW PRESENT: KUSH JONES (NYC)

With support from Surly, Lil Kaiviti and ngaru

-------

We've been working on this one for a while and the stars have aligned at last to bring back Juke Bounce Werk label mainstay KUSH JONES to the NOTW basement for a return outing on the Ghost Soundsystem.

For those of us who have somehow been living under a rock, Kush Jones is a multi talented producer, DJ, and music visionary who has redefined the landscape of bass-driven music. Hailing from the Bronx, New York, he seamlessly merges the raw energy of footwork, techno, and club music with influences drawn from hip-hop, dancehall, and experimental soundscapes. His innovative approach has positioned him as a leading force in the global underground electronic music scene.

Renowned for his ability to transcend genres, Kush Jones crafts electrifying, bass-heavy productions that fuse traditional rhythms with futuristic sound design. His signature style—a blend of intricate beat patterns, gritty textures, and infectious grooves—resonates deeply with both club crowds and experimental music enthusiasts. Always pushing boundaries, Kush has earned a devoted fanbase while solidifying his reputation as a true pioneer in modern electronic music.

Kush grew up surrounded by R&B and soul played at home, which led to learning computer based music production as a teen, and while most of his peers were taking the traditional hip-hop route, he was off discovering Chicago footwork, Jersey club, and more. Still fascinated by the way all these genres reworked classic sounds to form new ones, Kush set off on a path to fuse his influences to form his own voice for the dance floor.

Eventually jumping behind the decks to play exclusive tracks from him and his friends, he gained the attention of likeminded DJs from all over, and found a home on the LA-based Juke Bounce Werk crew. A regular now on the global touring circuit in the US and Europe, he holds down radio residencies on Rinse FM and a legendary slot on The Lot Radio with B2B DJ partners and frequent collaborators AceMo, MomaReady, and DJ Swisha. Churning out homemade creations regularly, Kush is most known for Strictly 4 MY CDJZ, his self-released series of Bandcamp exclusive EPs with 40 volumes planned to drop.

We are super hyped for this one, and if you caught Kush's sellout show at NOTW a couple of years ago, you already know this is going to be special.

Supported by some of our favourite local talent including Surly, Aotearoa’s own member of the Juke Bounce Werk crew, Lil Kaiviti, and ngaru.

Don’t miss out on this one. See you on the dancefloor and get ready to sweat.

Ave Pangenitor 2024 NZ Tour

Ave Pangenitor 2024 NZ Tour

Zerstiren formed in Christchurch, New Zealand in 2007 out of a discordant blend of jarring influences and disparate elements. Somehow the Whole transcended the sum of the parts; the result was a dynamic mix of melody, discord, crushing brutality and blistering technicality.

Core members Shane Mulholland and Chris Lewis on guitars, and Frederick Bain on vocals were joined by a rotating cast of supporting members that achieved a lot in a short time, multiple local and national shows, headlining tours and supporting the best of the best, all culminating in the release of AVE PANGENITOR, a 52 minute opus of progressive death metal that achieved accolades far beyond expectations.

Unfortunately the realities and mundane drudgery of life caused the implosion of the band in 2011 and the band scattered to the wind.

Thirteen years later the tides have shifted, and with all core members now living in the same city. Joined by Rich Hebden on bass, the stage is set to revisit the music and see whether the fire still burns.

Joined in sonic service by seasoned contemporaries, Pull Down the Sun have toured New Zealand and Australia for their 'Pierce the Sea' tour, in preparation for their upcoming single release. Coming off a recent tour with The Ocean, these boys are ready to prove yet again that they are one of NZ’s best and most promising acts in the current metal sphere.

Zuke - Come Closer Album Release Show

Zuke Come Closer Album Release Show

Saturday December 7 2024 - Neck of the Woods, Auckland

Celebrate the release of Zukes’ highly anticipated debut album, Come Closer.

Zuke is the electronic project from producer & synth-wizard, Ed Zuccollo. Ed has honed his skills as a live musician while immersed in the vibrant music scene of New Zealand’s capital city of Wellington. Under his alias Zuke, his genre-fluid, instrumental productions have been extensively road-tested on festival sound systems across the country.

Described as “an exploratory journey into the physicality of deep bass, with a taste for the cinematic”, Come Closer is a kaleidoscope of sounds, textures, rhythms and moods. Elements of jungle, dubstep, downtempo, house, and environmental field recordings fuse together, creating a dynamic blend of melodic beauty and powerful bass.

“This album is a collection of tunes from the last 6 years that I felt went together in terms of a cosmic cinematic feel, density of layers, and journey-like forms.” - Zuke

Be the first to experience and celebrate Come Closer being brought to life through a new live show on Saturday, December 7 2024 at Neck of the Woods, Auckland.

With support from long-time friends and fellow wizards Dylan C & Mia Kober b2b DirdyGerdi.
