Hot off the back of their recent superb support slot for Zamrock legends W.I.T.C.H, the masterful Leonard Charles Group will help you see in the Easter long weekend the right way at Neck of the Woods, with a special intimate evening of psychedelic funk grooves to blow out those cranial cobwebs and have you fully re-energised for the break's obligatory over-indulgences.
The Leonard Charles Group is Tāmaki Makaurau's newest funk-powered supergroup, led by Jeremy “Leonard Charles” Toy (Opensouls, She’s So Rad) on guitar, with Chip Matthews (Opensouls, Che-Fu & The Krates) on bass, Ruby Walsh (Na Noise, Lips) on percussion, and Tom Broome (Avantdale Bowling Club, Anika Moa) on drums.
Joining them in the psychedelic chaos in the NOTW basement will be Fruju Peak, the experimental jazz band who have been drawing inspiration from psychedelic music in all its different forms, and delivering their signature sound to audiences across the city, most recently at our fave inner city party, Karangahape's own Cross Street Festival.
Grab your $15 tickets now from UTR, or pay $20 on the door. Don't sleep on it, this stellar night of jazzed out psych is the only way you should be seeing in your long weekend this Easter Thursday!
