Hailing from Tūranga-nui-a-Kiwa, tune the taringa to Oceanspace, a six-piece band of groovers and movers. Their Kaupapa; visceral velocity. Transporting their crowds between eras and genres, this group know not the limits of music.
Transcending time and space, listeners can expect psychedelic rock infused with electronic dance music, originating from an undisclosed era that could hit in 1960 or 2030.
It’s a post-lockdown story you may have heard before. With ample time and inspiration, this group almost fell together in what was a romance with making music. Oceanspace describe their beginning as one of navigating a “post-apocalyptic world”. Fruit became jam and jams became a set that soared them through a beachfront rager one Labour Weekend.
But don’t be fooled by their good looks. These musicians hit the books during their humble beginnings, reading up on all things music production. It was a culmination of these books, daily surfs and late-night musical musings that birthed the duo turned band, Oceanspace.
Although loyal to the waves of Te Tai Rāwhiti, this musical collective is ready to make tracks across the motu. This Raumati a trail of flowers will follow their course as they journey around Aotearoa, spreading their messages of love, freedom and presence.
Joined by Seaver, Debbie Fear, Thomas Newton, Where Water Meets, and more talented musicians along the way...
